Join the ICLEI World Congress 2018 and learn and contribute to innovative and collaborative solutions for sustainable cities, towns and regions

At the ICLEI World Congress 2018 from 19-22 June, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and Ville de Montréal expect to bring together 1,200 participants, including hundreds of mayors, governors, city representatives, international organizations, business leaders, technical experts and researchers to share their ideas, successes and challenges in advancing sustainable urban development worldwide.

Throughout the four days, the Congress participants will be offered prime opportunities to network and strengthen their partnerships. Inspiring high-level plenaries and sub-plenaries will feature leading cities, international organizations, research institutions, and businesses and will explore how urban sustainability is an integral component of the sustainable development agenda both locally and globally.

More than 50 interactive thematic sessions will cover a wide range of leading topics in sustainable urban developing, such as collaborative pathways for eco-innovation in cities, designing urban systems that fit planetary boundaries, women leadership and gender mainstreaming in sustainable urban development, transforming environmental and societal challenges into innovation opportunities with nature-based solutions, and many more. Complemented by a suite of mobile workshops exploring the innovative sustainable urban development initiatives of Ville de Montréal and its community, the ICLEI World Congress 2018 program will allow for more focused exchanges of ideas, tools and solutions among peers.

The program will also provide rich and meaningful networking opportunities for participants to connect with prospective partners as well as strengthen existing collaborations.
